EASD and the Walworth County Department of Health and Human Services will host Dr. Greg Hudnall in the James A Wehner Auditorium at Elkhorn Area High School on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 7 p.m. All families and community members are invited to his presentation, “What We Know and What We Don’t Know About Youth Suicide.” Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Hudnall will present the latest research on youth suicide. He will also discuss the things to say and not to say to struggling youth. Please come with questions.

The clinic will take place from 5-7 p.m. on September 14th in the Cheer Gym at Elkhorn Area High School. Participants will later perform during halftime at the September 16th Varsity Football game.
The $25 registration fee includes: A two-hour cheer clinic, game admission on September 16th, a halftime performance including cheer, jumps, dance, tumbling, and stunts, and a t-shirt and bow! Families should register by September 2nd for a guaranteed t-shirt.

Physicals include a doctor’s exam and a sports medicine screening by an athletic trainer. They do not include blood tests or immunizations. One physical per appointment available for students up to age 18.
Please complete the health history portion of the child’s physical form before the appointment.

Physicals are not billable to insurance. Cash, check or credit card payment is due at appointment. Child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Wear shorts, t-shirt and your glasses or contacts.

Congratulations to EAHS Automotive and Technology Education teacher Austin Thorson for being named one of 50 finalists for the 2022 Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence.
The award honors excellent teaching in skilled trades education in U.S. public high schools. Austin is now in the running for one of 20 prizes totaling $1.25 million, which will be awarded in October.

Congratulations Anna and Grace!
Anna was selected for the Wisconsin School Music Association Middle Level State Honors Band on trumpet, and Grace is the prioritized first alternate on bass clarinet! Anna and Grace performed auditions in April to compete for spots in this elite band. Nearly 1000 middle school students across the state of Wisconsin auditioned for the 305 spots in the program, including band, choir, and orchestra. Being accepted and recognized as an alternate are accomplishments that set them apart as being among the top middle school band students in the state.
